Select Technologies expands LAN solution

As part of its strategy to become a complete solution provider, Select Technologies, promoter of ace brand of modems and networking products in the country, is expanding its product folio in the LAN solutions.

The Bangalore-based company had recently launched hubs, switches and NICs in the LAN segment and is currently expanding the domain by integrating simple network management protocol solutions into these products. The company is also bringing fiber optic solutions in the LAN segment and has launched print servers. "In the next stage, we would add Internet security solutions and high-end routing solutions in to this segment," said Ashok Dash, Branch Manager, Select Technologies.

In Internet security, the company has already tied-up with DigiSAFE for hardware products and is currently negotiating with a couple of foreign brands dealing with software solutions, to become their exclusive distributor here. "The high-end routing solution will include fiber optic, leased line and dial-up services. It's a combination of both hardware and software products," said Dash.

The newly launched print server operates on TCP/IP, Netbuey and Mac environment. "It is a three-parallel port solution supporting 10/100 mbps LAN," he said.

Select Technologies is repositioning itself as a solution provider and consultancy player, from being a mere box pusher. "We are increasing our focus on the end-users segment and would provide complete solutions, from modem to enterprise wide service in LAN and communication environment," quipped Dash.

The company has announced a promotion scheme called `Get Networked' for its dealers and resellers recently, to promote LAN and access solutions. "We work on different models for different solutions and our channel network comprises of distributors, system integrators, dealers and reseller. We have also tied-up with ISPs for bundling solutions," added Dash.

The company has clocked a turnover of Rs 10 crore in the last fiscal and is aiming at registering a revenue of Rs 45 crore in the current fiscal.
