Select holds third eStorm Summit in Kuala Lumpur

Select Technologies, a 100 percent subsidiary of WeP
Peripherals, held its end-customer show, eStorm 05, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
EStorm 05 is Select's annual storage and security technology summit. This
edition of the event was held for the third consecutive year and positioned as a
melting pot for technology partners, end-customers and the Indian IT
distribution industry.

The chief keynote speaker at eStorm 05 was Ram Agarwal,
Chairman, CEO, WeP Peripherals. The goals for the summit were to raise awareness
of the diverse security and storage concerns of the IT community and to promote
greater participation in dialogue and exchange to strengthen the need for
securing information. The gathering was also addressed by P K Gupta, Chairman-SNIA
and Himanshu, Consultant from Frost & Sullivan, Singapore. 

Check Point Software was the diamond sponsor and RSA Security
the platinum sponsor at eStorm 05. Internet Security Systems, Websense, EMC
Software and SonicWALL were the gold sponsors. estorm 05 targets the CXO
community and this year it was attended by 100 customers which included senior
management like CXOs, VP's, functional heads and IT managers. This was an
exclusive event and the customers for this event were handpicked from across
verticals. Some of the targeted verticals are banking and financial services,
BPO and IT services. Some of the customers who attended these SBI Life
Insurance, Jet Airways, Kotak Bank, Mahindra British Telecom, Reuters, Accenture
and Datamatics.

Information Protection solutions offered from Select
Technologies are FireWall and VPN, gateway anti virus, authentication, SSL VPN
appliances and mobility solutions, virus/spam detection and quarantine,
intrusion detection and prevention, and integrated security appliances. Select
also provides information management solutions like high availability/clustering
of server applications, reporting tools, employee Internet management, disaster
recovery/replication, archival, server/desktop backup, bandwidth management and
vulnerability and patch management.
