Seagate Technology, a leading hard disc drives manufacturer, has announced the opening of a warranty support `SWAP' center to better meet the needs of its large customer base in India. Chennai-based ACCEL-ICIM has been retained to manage the SWAP center. A second center will be opening in New Delhi in the near future.
The SWAP center will offer warranty exchange to existing services provided by Seagate distributors in India. All Seagate hard drives purchased through Seagate's Indian distributors will be supported as per the warranty specification of the product.
At present, customers throughout India with Seagate warranty drives can access the SWAP center services after getting Return Authorization Number from
ACCEL.
SWAP center service is designed to support all Seagate distributors, OEMs, Seagate Import Partners, Seagate Storage Partners, resellers and end-users in the country beginning initially in three staggered phases. Beginning immediately, the center will support Seagate authorized distributors, OEMs and Seagate Import Partners. In phase two, the SWAP center services will begin supporting the Seagate Storage Partners, and beginning in December it will begin its support of other reseller and the end user.

Seagate announces reward program for channels
Seagate Technology, providers of hard disc drives, has announced the Seagate rewards program for its import and storage partners in India. The program would enable Seagate to recognize and reward the support and business relationships of its channel customers and their contribution to the growth of Seagate in India. Seagate has engaged SurfGold.com, an online loyalty rewards network, for its rewards program in India. Sharad Srivastava, Country Manager, Seagate India announced this.
He also informed that Seagate has already been running similar programs for its other markets in the Asia-Pacific region and with its launch in India, the program would give an opportunity to Seagate to acknowledge and appreciate the support of its partners.
Seagate currently has about 15 import and 350 storage partners spread across 36 cities in India.
