Samsung Electronics India Information and
Telecommunication Ltd (SEIIT), the 100 percent IT and telecom subsidiary of
Samsung Electronics Co, Korea, today announced 72 percent increase in its
quarter revenue. In Q1, it has clocked a turnover of Rs 275 crore versus Rs 160
crore in the same period last year. SEIIT also announced that the company will
be introducing a range of new digital products like the MP3 players, electronic
diaries and laptops in India.
Commenting on the company's performance, JS Jong,
Director, SEIIT, said, "SEIIT has witnessed a tremendous growth over the
past one year. We have achieved a significant increase in our market shares
across all product categories in the last quarter and are confident of achieving
a sales turnover of Rs 1,200 crore this year."
Under the corporate motto 'creating new lifestyles for
the world,' SEIIT also announced a host of new products for India. In the color
monitor division, the new launches are SyncMaster 240T, SyncMaster 151MP,
SyncMaster 755DFG, SyncMaster 955DF/900NF and SyncMaster 1200NF.
In the laser printer category, the company has launched
SF-5100P and SCX-1000. In the hard disk drive division, the newly launched
products include V30 drive (30GB) and the P20 drive (20GB). In the optical disk
drive division, the launches are SW-212 (12xCD-RW) and SM-308 (8x Combo). The
newly launched mobile phones are SGH-M100 (MP3 phone), SGH-N100, SGH-A110 and
SCH-620.
Apart from the above products, the company is also
exploring the market to launch its state-of-the-art laptops, electronic diaries
and the MP3 player better known as the YEPP.
In the last quarter, SEIIT stormed the laser printer
market with the launch of its new range of three printers. In other business
divisions, it launched a multifunctional product, world's first COMBO drive,
country's first MP3 phone, a revolutionary CDMA phone and two new WAP phones.
Commenting on the new launches, Vivek Prakash, IT Head,
SEIIT, said, "As a company we believe in innovation. With this array of
future launches, we want to enhance our market addressability both in terms of
product variants and market segments. Our aim is not to increase our sales but
to grow the Indian IT and telecom market."
