Samsung launches IT Partner Program

Recognizing its channel partners on the basis of their business performance,
Samsung India has classified its IT Partners including the regional distributors
and stockist partners into three broad categories viz. Platinum partners, Gold
partners and Silver partners. The new program is called Samsung IT Partner
Program (SIPP). Commenting on the new changes in the classification of the
partners, Ranjit Singh Yadav, Director-IT, Samsung India said, “The new Samsung
IT Partner Program is being launched with the objective of having all Samsung IT
Partners under a single umbrella program and having an integrated approach
towards selling Samsung IT products to our partners.”

SIPP will categorize the Samsung IT partners under three broad divisions
based on the sales volumes, consistency of sales performance and the product
mix. Channel partners driving an average monthly volume of Rs 50 lakh or above
in metro cities that include Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata or Rs 20 lakh or
above in non-metro cities and showing a consistency in at least 10 out of last
12 months for a minimum of three product groups, will be classified as Platinum
Partners.

Similarly, channel partners driving an average monthly volume of Rs 10 lakh
or above in metro cities or Rs 4 lakh or above in non-metro cities and showing
consistency in at least 10 months for a minimum of two product groups, will be
classified as Gold Partners. While channel partners driving an average monthly
volume of Rs 1 lakh or above in metro cities or Rs 40,000 or above in non-metro
cities and showing a consistency for the last 10 months for a minimum of one
product group, will be classified as Silver Partners.

Partner Classification
Platinum: Average monthly volume of Rs 50 lakh or
above in metro cities or Rs 20 lakh or above in non-metro cities. Consistent
business for at least 10 months for a minimum of 3 product groups

Gold:
Average monthly volume of Rs 10 lakh or above in metro cities or Rs 4
lakh or above in non-metro cities. Consistent business for at least 10
months for a minimum of 2 product groups

Silver: Average monthly volume of Rs 1 lakh or above in metro
cities or Rs 40,000 or above in non-metro cities.

Consistent business for at least 10 months for a minimum of 1 product
group

Currently, Samsung has a base of 65 platinum partners and 165 gold partners
that contribute to 55 percent and 35 percent of the total Samsung IT business in
India respectively. The 425 silver partners spread across India contribute 10
percent to the company's total IT business in India.

“The new categorization of channel partners will help us to identify,
facilitate and felicitate the partners who have the potential to upgrade to the
next level and grow with the company,” said Yadav. The company has also designed
benefit package for its SIPP partners including rebates on monthly sales target
achievement, POP and POS marketing material, co-marketing and promotion
opportunities and high level communication support with the head office.
