Samsung Galaxy Mega to hit market next week

Samsung expanded its Galaxy smartphone portfolio with the release of new Samsung Galaxy Mega model in two variants, priced at Rs 25,100 and Rs 31,490, respectively.

"The two variants comes with a 5.8 and 6.3 inch display. With a promise of Stay Smart and Live Large concept, the company is offering the phones as imported from Korea," Samsung Mobile and Digital Imaging business, country head, Vineet Taneja said.

Powered by Android Jelly bean 4.1 operating system with a dual core processor, Galaxy Mega has a 8 megapixel rear camera and a 1.9 megapixel front camera and comes with up to 64 GB expandable memory.

Taneja said, "Galaxy Mega is also light and thin for incredible portability and is easy to use. With Galaxy Mega, customers can stay smart and live large, that is the promise (from us)."The devices' advanced software also facilitates more efficient processor use for improved battery life, meaning users can enjoy longer talk time and multimedia use, stated a release.

The 6.3-inch Mega's camera boasts of features almost like those in Galaxy S4. These include Sound and Shot, Dual-Photos and Story Album, among others.

It was announced that the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 inches will be available in the market within a week, while the Galaxy Mega 6.3 inches will be introduced in the market by mid-June. While the Galaxy Mega (5.8 inches qHD TFT display) is priced at Rs. 25,100, the Galaxy Mega with 6.3 inches HD Super Clear LCD Screen is priced at Rs. 31,490.

Galaxy Mega is also being launched with special offers from RCom and Vodafone. RCom customers opting for Galaxy Mega will get 2 GB data per month free for three months as well as unlimited access to Big Movies Library, unlimited WhatsApp, Twitter and Facebook during this period. Vodafone customers too will get access to 2 GB data download per month free for two months (3G + 2G), the release stated.
