Electronics India Information & Telecommunication Ltd (SEIIT), a wholly owned subsidiary of Korean company Samsung Electronics, would hit Gujarat with its customized PC targeting a sale of 5,400 PCs by this year-end. This target equals to 12 percent in a market size of Rs 360 crore PC market. Samsung has a countrywide plan of selling one lakh branded PCs and expects that the sales would grow at least 50 percent in the next year.

The customizable PC with more than 70 percent of the components within its arm is likely to hit the rural market of Gujarat.

Samsung envisages high growth from small towns where the penetration of PC manufacturers has been more or less negligible.

P Bhatnagar, Country Manager, SEIIT, informed that Redington would distribute the Samsung brands. Samsung has also appointed 25 retail partners and 10 corporate resellers and to cater to these segments. It would also set up 15 additional service centers.
