In a bid to expand its retail base in Orissa, Samsung India Electronics Ltd
is planning to set up five more outlets in the state. Informing this Samsung
president and CEO south West Asia Head-quarters Kwang Soo Kim added that the
outlets, named Digital Plaza and digital home, would be opened at Bhubane-swar,
Balasore, Sambalpur Rourkela and Berhampur. "While Bhubaneswar will have
the digital home the rest will have digital plaza," he added.
"The outlets will have a modern kitchen and a home theatre experiences
in a living room alongside showcasing the entire range of consumer products of
the company including electronics, home appliances, Information tech-nology and
cellular products," Kim said. The digital home will be set up in a bigger
room where as the digital plazas would be its smaller version, he said.
"Samsung is focusing on India and made the country its hub for south East
Asia operations," he reiterated.
"While the company has already set up two state of the art R&D
centers at Bangalore and Noida it has made its presence felt through out the
country with various of its consumer friendly quality products," he added.
