Foreseeing exciting times ahead in the product landscape, the govern-ment of

Andhra Pradesh has lifted the sales tax on the goods sold during the three-day

Gitex Hyderabad exhibition. Basking on the success wave of Banga-lore IT.com,

the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) in asso-ciation with Information Tech-nology

& Communication Dep-artment (IT&C), Government of Andhra Pradesh, is

sanguine about attracting 'Good Busi-ness Momentum' at the fourth edition of

the exhibition to be held from January 12 to January 14, 2005.

With the provision of sales tax waiver thus made, the organizers are

expecting to double this year's visitors as compared to the last year's

6,300. Informing this, David Lim, Project Manager, DWTC international said,

"For the first time the government has waived sales tax on all the items

being sold. Also, the space of the exhibition is increased from the last year's

2,700 sq ft. to 5,400 sq ft thereby doubling the number of stalls from the

earlier 70."

The forthcoming exhibition will also have prominence as more number of stalls

would be set up by companies from countries like China, Taiwan, South Africa,

Israel, etc. "Interestingly, there are some leading hardware players who

have decided to set up shop for the first time in this exhibition this

year," added Lim.
