As the festive season has just arrived,
the shoppers have a delight to experience exciting schemes and
offers. The retailers are in competition spree amidst the myriad
lights of Diwali. As the dawn of dazzling fireworks is yet to begin,
the buyers are in no mood to spare the festive opportunity. Though,
the retail chain stores have seen a traction in the sales of 3D, LED
and 40-inch-plus LCD and Plasma televisions, notebooks, smartphones
and digital SLR cameras but the market around the core IT products
are in lackluster state.

Delhi-based DP Sinha, MD, Graphline
Computers, who offer the products business and corporate clients said
that, there has been a decline of around 50 percent sales as compared
to previous year. Subhash Karek, Sr Manager, Challenger Computers
owes this decline to the recently-concluded Commonwealth Games. “The
forward supply chain management of logistics have already been in
dilapidated state and the customers are not showing much desire to
buy the products on this festive season. There has been apparent
decline of 40 percent sales, compared to the previous year,"
said Karek.

Mohit Garg, MD, Aakriti Enterprises which is in
Ghaziabad said that, the dealers are yet to see the momentum and
there has been a decline close to 50 percent in sales. Almost all the
OEM vendors that include LG, Lenovo, Dell, HP and Sony are offering
schemes, but unfortunately the buying pattern is not favorable,"
said Garg. Bareilly-based Kailash Madan, MD, PC Point said that, the
region is witnessing very low turnout during this festive season.
"Nearly two-third of the sales have apparently been in shambles.
The primarily reason, is however the ongoing Panchayat election in
the region," concluded Madan.
