RSA, the Security Division of EMC has appointed Redington as its second

national distributor in India. The tie-up will see Redington further RSA's

entire security solutions portfolio to B and C-class cities and provide the

company with the requisite breadth within the channel community. RSA channel

distribution network comprises Access, Solutions and Signature partners. The

vendor currently has as many as 45-50 Access partners on board and will expand

its network by another 40-50 percent this fiscal.

Citing reasons for signinganother distributor, Sriram Viswanathan, Channel

Manager-India and SAARC, RSA stated, “Until now, RSA had been catering to the

India market through Select Technologies. However, Redington will enhance our

national presence and help us penetrate into the upcountry markets since

predominantly we have been present in metro


cities only till now. Some of the markets in which we want to foray are

Ahmedabad, Chandigarh and eastern parts of the country including Kolkata. RSA

will also will be able to leverage Redington's experience from working with EMC

to cater to the demand for combined solutions for storage and security.”

“As we look towards increasing our reach and foothold in the country,

Redington becomes a natural choice with its extensive reseller network and its

vast reach across cities in India,” said Amuleek Bijral, Country Manager-India

and SAARC, RSA, The Security Division of EMC. “We also foresee a growing demand

for combined storage and security solutions going forward, and Redington is the

right fit as it has been a distributor for EMC for several years now. This

partnership will help us supplement our existing channel network and reach out

to more partners and customers in the country,” he added.

As part of its growth strategy RSA will enhance its focus on its product

portfolio including secure ID and remote access management and compliance tools.

“Our primary aim is to focus on creating awareness and enabling our partners. We

will roll out a number of schemes to keep the interest of the partners alive and

boost our sales further,” added Viswanathan.
