Rajasthan Computer Traders Association (RCTA) is likely to introduce two important guidelines for its members by end of this month. As per the new guidelines, any vendor before appointing a new partner in Jaipur has to take a ‘No Objection Certificate'(NOC) from the older partner. In case if the older partner does not give the NOC, the vendor can neither appoint new partner nor replace the old partner. The association has taken this step to control the unethical way of appointment of the partners by putting older partner into pending stock crisis.
Speaking to The DQ Week, Deepak Sharda, secretary, RCTA said, "In Jaipur, our members have been facing this issue for quite sometime. Typically, if due to any reason a partner does not meet the targets, vendor replaces the partner without prior notice and extending any support while liquidating the pending stock. As a result, the old partner is stuck with a pile of stocks. Therefore, our association members have decided at the recently held general meeting to first get the NOC from the old partner. This NOC or understanding recommendation has been approved by all the key 40 partners, who are directly buying from the vendors. Soon, we will implement this at the member's level."
The association is also going to prepare a standard in the form of set of questions, which a new partner has to ask its vendor before the appointment. Failure of NOC may delay the process. These questions will be based on the old partner information such as reason for discontinuation of the partnership, pending stock detail, forwarding the stock in the name of new appointing partner and few more. The association will soon upload these standards on the website.
When asked if in case a vendor is appointing a non-RCTA member than how this works, Sharda said, "In such a case our vendors, distributor coordination committee will try to sort out the matter mutually. In addition to that, we will also enforce vendors to ask non-members to become member to get more trade protection."
Apart from that the association has also taken steps to mitigate the rampant poaching of employee by partners. The association has made it mandatory for the member's employees to first get a NOC from the previous employer.
Lastly, the association is soon going to announce a group medical cum accidental insurance privilege for its lifetime members. "We are talking to multiple insurance providers, but have not yet finalized the detail of insurance," Sharda concluded.
