Rajasthan Computer Traders' Association (RCTA) has been keeping a low profile
of late. In fact, the last the association was in the news was a few months back
when an anonymous letter was circulated among the channel community in Jaipur
blaming the executive members for utilizing the association for their personal
benefits. Not to mention, the association has also not held its elections or any
general meeting since a year. Recently, Rupesh Kedia, a member of the
association sent a written mail to RCTA asking why election or general meetings
had not been held.
Taking stock of the issue, Rajasthan Computer Traders' Association (RCTA) is
finally gearing up for some action. In reply to the queries sent by Kedia,
Nischal Sidana, President of RCTA stated that the elections would be held on
October 19. As far as the activities are concerned, the association is
partnering with IT Voice, a newly launched channel publication of Rajasthan, as
an official partner for IT Voice Expo 08.
Tarun Taunk, CEO of IT Voice mentioned that the IT expo was an initiative
taken by the publication in order to create awareness among customers about new
products. “Seeing the increasing focus of multinational companies on B and
C-class cities, Jaipur should be developed as a prime IT market and the IT expo
is being organized with the same objective. RCTA is our official partner and is
providing us their full support,” he said.
IT Voice Expo 08 is scheduled to kickstart from September 26 to 28. It will
be organized at SMS Investment Ground at Ambedkar Circle in Jaipur
Commenting on the participation of dealers in the expo, Hira Singh, PRO, RCTA
said, “We are expected to have around 120 stalls and have been getting good
response from dealers. The list is almost final. The objective of the event is
to create awareness at customers' level about new products and technology.”
According to the members of the association, RCTA has gone through a series
of meetings to enhance activities in the association and participating in IT
expo is one move towards this direction followed by elections.
Arinjay Jain, Secretary, RCTA added that the association has been planning to
hold the event for the past three months.
Speaking on the elections to be held in October, Singh said, “This time the
association is planning to include those dealers only who have good influence in
the market and who can devote enough time to the welfare of the association.”
