Rapoo: India is our top priority market

In an exclusive interaction with The DQ Week, Oliver Shi, APAC GM at RAPOO Technologies shared his vision for the India market and its channel plans ahead. The company is gearing up to strengthen its presence in the country and is planning to introduce new products.

Shi said, "We are a young company and offer a elegant and innovative products. We are a leading player in China and now aspire to replicate our performance in this market." He further added, "We firmly believe channel partners are the key for our growth in this country and we are planning to engage with channel partners more in this country."

For Rapoo, India is the top priority market in the Asia Pacific region states Shi. The company has long term strategy to establish themselves in this market. Shi said, "We have a local channel's team in place to manage India sales. Also, we are developing a strong after sales support system to assist our partners."

The company plans to adopt a regional distribution model and currently has 3 distributors to cater to the requirements of the entire Indian market. This include Savera Marketing which looks after North and East India, Creative Peripherals and Distribution which looks after West and Encon Impex which will be responsible for South India. Shi said, "We are planning to add more value added resellers and strengthen our dealer system in India. "

Currently, Rapoo has few employees on board, however, the plans is to appoint ASM in each state. For now, the strategy is to work with partners and create a strong association with the channel community. Shi said, "We want value added partners to work with us and following this second tier partners who will be the key dealers in numerous regions."

The company has announced to enable a direct hotline for post sales service and is considering appointing a third party service provider if required in future. As of today, the company has direct presence in 6 location across India.

The company recently conducted a launch event in Mumbai and is planning for another big launch in OND quarter. In addition, the company also has LFR and other projects in the pipeline.
