In the general interest of the local channel community, members of Rajkot
Computer Traders Association ( RCTA) have resolved to revamp the IT body. While
earlier the association existed with only committee members, now RCTA has
elected office bearers to give direction to the association. Kalpesh Rughani of
Divyang Infoworld has been elected as President of the association, Sarju Patel
of C Point as VP and Sameer Dassani of Anil Infotech as General Secretary. Kirit
Patel of PC Systems has been appointed as Joint Secretary and Praful Desai of
Anjali Computer Media as Treasurer. The advisory committee consists of Gopal
Patel of Wiptech Peripherals and Saudhan Desai of D'Soft.

The other members of the committee are Haresh Virani of NetLink Infocom,
Kishor Patel of Sudarshan Marketing, Nilesh Shah of Macintosh e-Gallery,
Dharmesh Patani of Nibble Infolink, Paresh Ajmera of Delta Systems and
Peripherals, Saurin Parekh of Spire Systems, Mehul Mehta of Omkar Software and
System, Rajeev Upadhyay of Om Enterprise and Amit Kothari of Arihant Computer
House.

Established in 1996, RCTA was a strong apex body of IT traders in Saurashtra
and Kutch, which covers the region of Rajkot, Junagadh, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar,
Amreli, Porbander, Surendranagar, Gandhidham, Bhuj and other neighboring
regions. However, members feel that not having office bearers led to the
downfall of the association.

Now, the general management and control of RCTA and internal working
methodology will be carried out by the elected committee members. The members
of the committee are elected by the general RCTA members, each representing
different sectors of IT industries like software, hardware, peripherals,
consumables and web designing. “We have formed various teams of all the
committee members and sub-committees like Social Committee, Marketing Committee,
Administrative Committee and Management Committee to perform various tasks like
organizing exhibition, roadshows, etc,” said Dassani.
