In
search of better opportunities in the network solution business,
Rajarshi Ghosh has quit Epitom Networks, although he has not officially
put in his papers as the Director of the company. Ghosh said, “I would
like open an independent start-up venture. Hence, it is time for me to
move on.”

However, trusted sources in the company have revealed that there was a
difference of opinion between Ghosh and Gaurav Goel, Director of
Eastern Logica, which led to Ghosh quitting the company. Besides,
sources also added that Ghosh was facing an 'identity crisis' in the
organization, which was the primary factor for the resignation.

Apart from these revelations, it was also claimed that there was a spat
regarding the Epitom's sponsorship in the recent Compass expo. Sources
said that Ghosh was unhappy with the group's decision to sponsor of Rs
10 lakh in the recent Compass expo. Ghosh had later claimed that
'negligible benefits have derived out of the sponsorship'. Besides,
violation of banner norms in the Compass expo was also raised.

It has been further disclosed that the Epitom Group has been wasting
its internal funds away in debatable infrastructural investments. It
has been claimed that the group is paying around Rs 24 lakh every month
for an alleged loan repayment which was considered 'unnecessary' by
Ghosh.

With Ghosh quitting, Gaurav Goel and Shintu Chakraborty together have
assumed the responsibility of Epitom Networks. However, sources in the
company believe that Chakraborty may also opt to quit Epitom and might
team up with Ghosh to float a new venture.

Presently, Ghosh has a stake of about 20 percent in the group and the
joint stake of Ghosh and Chakraborty amounts to 35 percent. With Ghosh
quitting the company and rumors floarinig in the market about
Chakraborty's departure also imminent too, the 35 percent joint stake
is causing a worry to the senior management.

Talking about the same, Ghosh said, “Presently, I have not decided
whether to keep the stakes into the company or sell them off. However,
if my project takes off, I will be needing capital. I am still
interested and will continue to work in the network integration
business.”
