QAD India will open its head office in Mumbai this year.
The company currently has a liaison office in India. The company is also
planning to increase its employee base and revenue from the Indian
sub-continent. Firoze Wadia, Country Head, QAD said, “Though QAD has been in
India since 1991 but since we didn’t have any direct presence in the country
we couldn’t focus on the growing Indian market.”
QAD has recently appointed Deloitte as its new
distributor to increase its channel focus in Asia. It already had Thirdware and
ATOS origin as distributor for this region QAD has around 1,000 installed sites
in India with customers like Hiundustan Lever Ltd, Ford, Daewoo, Delphi, Tata
Johnson, Nicholas Piramal, Dabur and Godrej soaps. It has around 150 customers
in India.
The company had around 10 ERP implementations last year
and is planning to have around 15 implementations this year.
In terms of its marketing initiatives, the company is
focusing mainly on SME segments. It is also expecting huge growth this year.
Last year, the company generated revenue of $ 220 million worldwide, of which
India has contributed $ 4 million and APAC $ 44 million. Around 60 percent of
revenue came from licensing and 40 percent from maintenance. It is expecting a
growth of around 15 percent in its revenues.
QAD enterprise applications leverage advances in
Internet and enabling technologies to provide functionality for managing
manufacturing resources and operations within and beyond the enterprise.
Manufacturers of automotive, consumer products, electronics, food and beverage,
industrial and medical products use QAD applications at approximately 5,200
licensed sites in more than 80 countries and in as many as 26 languages.
