New ATM
ICICI has established its two new ATMs in Amritsar. These ATMs are situated at Rajasansi Airport and Ghala Mala Chowk in the city. VS Mulekar, Director, Airport Authority of India inaugurated the ATM at Rajasansi. Bakshi Ram Arora, Chairman, Improvement Trust inaugurated the other ATM.
Telecom man of Punjab
At an occasion in the city, Kuldeep Kumar Kohli, VP, HFCL, the provider of Connect private telephone service in Punjab, received an award of Telecom Man of Punjab. Addressing the gathering, Kohli said that company has offered 1.5-lakh connections to subscribers by spreading the net of 2,000-km fiber optic cable in the city. Mobile telephone service from the company is also available in some cities, which would come to other cities soon, at comparatively low and reasonable rates.
Case against computer fee
Under new scheme of Punjab government declared in September last year, a certain amount of fees was imposed on the school students on account of computer education. Till date, this has not been possible for government to provide computers or computer education at all schools, whereas, computer fees is regularly being charged. Against this act of state government, case has been registered by an organization named Students rights & liberty in Punjab & Haryana high court. Organization has demanded cancellations of this fees as well as refund of fee charges from students till time.
