Office XP in Gurmukhi

Sardar Prakash Singh Badal, CM, Punjab launched office XP in Gurmukhi
language recently in the state. While launching this software Badal extended his
thanks to Bill Gates for providing this software for Punjab. This is not out of
place to mention here that during visit of Gate to the country, Badal met him
along with Pramod Mahajan and requested him to provide such useful software for
Punjab. Badal added that, this Office XP in Gurmukhi would help people of Punjab
to get closer to IT.  People who do not know English can also take benefit
of computers through this. He also added that government departments would use
this XP and make their working more efficient and transparent.

New services on mobile

Customers of Spice mobile phones can now avail the facility of mobile banking
in branches of ICICI banks in Punjab and Chandigarh. Customers can enquire about
their account balance, mini statement, request for account statement and cheque
book and all other related customer interactions from the bank. ICICI already
has the facility of mobile banking for customers of BSNL and Connect.

Spice and ICICI has also launched direct bill payment facility for their
subscribers. Under this facility, if the subscriber has got an account in this
bank, mobile bill can be directly debited from there. This facility will also
provide another wonderful benefit, each time when spice mobile bill is debited
from account, 1.5 percent of the amount paid will get credited back to
account.
