More connections by BSNL
BSNL has declared to issue another one-lakh connections in Punjab by March this year in order to deal with its long pending waiting list. Speaking to press SC Choudhry, Chief GM, Punjab Circle added that BSNL would also provide mobile services in Punjab very shortly. He also declared the reduction in STD charges from January 14.
PAU cease its IT courses
State government of Punjab is trying its best to promote information and technology education in State. Government is firm on providing different aids and programs for this education. On the other hand, Punjab Agriculture University (PAU) has decided to close its information and technology courses. According to sources, this step has been taking due to lesser interest of students towards IT courses offered by the university.
New Internet café
Alps India-an IT designing and educational company has launched its new venture-Web Point-an Internet café. The café houses all the basic and advanced Internet facilities under one roof. Sanio from Japan as the Chief Guest and Akiko graced the function in capacity of Guest of Honor at the inaugural function.
