Govt withdraws octroi
State government of Punjab has stopped octroi collection in Punjab from December 1, 2001. This news has proved to be a happy moment for all the computer resellers in the state. Jalandhar Computer Dealers Association was trying, from a long time now, to reduce the octroi on computer and IT products. This decision of removing it completely on all items, according to JCDA, apart from eliminating the harassment of octroi collection staff in the government, would reap many other benefits, which are to be seen with the time.
Notice to PTU

Nitin Anand of Netbrainz Computer Training Institute has closed the institute without any notice to students who have already paid their fees for the course, which again totals in lakhs. Netbrainz is said to be in affiliation with PTU and ABVP has thus demanded justice for students as well as for staff of institute. The staff of institute also claims that they have not received their salaries from past many months. ABVP has formed a 15-member committee to look into the matter and take appropriate action.
