Pune university signs MoU with SGI

The University of Pune has signed a Memorandum of

Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Silicon Graphics Inc. (SGI) for setting up a

high-per-formance computing facility at the university’s proposed center for

modeling and simulation.

The center will train students in the high-performance

computing and serve as basic research facility, with emphasis on modeling and

simulation.

As part of the MoU, the university will acquire from SGI a

high performance computing system. The SGI, as part of the agreement, will also

sponsor a professional chair at the uni-versity, besides establishing a

fellowship fund for two res-earch fellows.
