peripherals, including computers, UPS and servers. However, the most
selling products in the market are laptops, cabinets and CD drivers.
In the last two months, the market has been witnessing quite a good
growth, and people are demanding products from major brands, like
Acer, Dell and LG.

Speaking about the
new trends coming up
in the market, Anil Mhaske of Data Care Corporation said, “ style="font-weight: normal;">Nowadays,
customers are becoming more matured and smart. They have better
understanding and knowledge than dealers about different products.”
However, while discussing about the sales of products during the
festive season, Mhaske explained, “During the Diwali season, the IT
market usually sees a slowdown as lot of customers like to invest in
lifestyle products, spend on travel and home appliances, rather than
buying IT peripherals and products.” Pune's IT market
has a computer association-Computers and Media Dealers Association
(CMDA), which has played a positive role in helping dealers solve
their problems. However the
dealers in Pune face some issues, doing business with vendors. “This
is mainly because vendors want to keep maximum stock with them, which
is quite problematic for dealers,” expressed Mhaske. The IT market
in Pune primarily serves the education and corporate segments, as
well as SMEs.
