IT expo. The expo had 120 stalls measuring 40,000 sq ft area for
displaying major brands, viz, Digisol, Logitech, Intex, Apple, IBM,
Lenovo, Samsung, Sony, Canon, HP, Acer, Intel, Dell etc.

Godbole, president, CMDA briefed about the IT expo and requested Pune
municipal commissioner Mahesh Pathak to help for giving the land to
build the IT hardware mall in Pune, which will help customers to see
the various products under one umbrella, which was accepted. The
theme of the expo was, 'Touch IT to Cloud'.

world is fast moving towards cloud technology and there is wide
spread excitement about simple and cost-effective handy tablets. The
association thought of promoting these 2 latest technologies through
the exhibition.
style="font-size: 12pt;" size="3">Godbole
further explained that CMDA is taking new initiative of e-waste
management. The association will setup 25 e-waste collection centers
in Pune and PCMC area. There will be periodical collection at these
centers by government approved recycling companies which will be
further scientifically disposed.
style="font-size: 12pt;" size="3">All
visitors at the IT expo were paid for bringing e-waste and besides
free entry. This is first step towards green IT initiative by CMDA,
Pune. This model of e-waste collection will be called as CMDA Pune
model.
