Priya launches Krypton PCs starting from Rs 14,000

Priya Ltd has finally launched its PC range under the Krypton umbrella. These
PCs will be available with the VIA and AMD process and would be called VIAO and
Voyager respectively.

Aditya Bhuwania, Dire-ctor, Priya, present at the occasion, said, "Priya
is looking at expanding the Krypton range of products, Therefore, at a later
stage, the company would also look at launching TV tuner cards. As a
distributor, it was time we also got into a product like a PC, especially since
we deal with all the essential components."

The PCs would be manufactured at their Vashi plant, which has a capacity of
around 100 machines a day. On the channel front, Priya has appointed 14
resellers in Mumbai and six in Cochin and has plans of appointing additional
resellers across India.

These PCs would start at a price range of Rs 14,000 (exclusive of taxes) and
approximately Rs 17,841 (including taxes) etc consisting of the VIA and AMD
processor. The AMD Voyager PC and the VIA VIAO PC would have the Athlon XP 2100+
and VIA C3 1GHz at the entry level.

The rest of the con-figuration would consist of 40 GB HDD, 128 MB RAM, 1.44
FDD, integrated 10/100 LAN, onboard Ac’97 Audio, S3 prosavage 8 integrated
video, keyboard, scroll mouse, 15-inch Philips monitor. These PCs are currently
available in black and silver color models. Priya would also have Intel
configured PCs called Avalanche, but would at present, concentrate on pushing
AMD and VIA.
