Channel
partners
in Tamil Nadu have raised a concern over the new unethical
HR practices followed by a few companies. They have termed it as
'poaching'. Like 'old wine in a new bottle', this old
practice has again created worries for the dealers in Tamil Nadu in
new ways. Speaking to The
DQWeek, K Senthil
Nathan of Premier Systems, Madurai and R Mahesh Kurup of Ozone
Computers, Coimbatore, have raised their voice against this practice.
“A leading firm, recently, has recruited one of my employees
without obtaining a relieving order. He left the job without
completing his assigned duties which has affected the business,”
said Nathan. The practice, he added, was present a few years ago,
and is again springing up in new form through local job consultants.
“When
they (companies) have a presence across the globe why can't they
conduct a campus drive and train fresh graduates? Why are they
spoiling our business?,” questioned Kurup. Terming such practices
'non-sense', Kurup also requested leading vendors to stop such
practices which curb the business of vendors, who, on the other hand,
have genuine business relation with them. He also added that the
vendors mainly concentrate on the sales team of the channel partners.
“We cannot estimate the loss made by an employee who resigns as it
depends upon the situation in which they put down their papers,”
said Kurup.
“We
recruit, train and take care of the employees. But when an employee
resigns overnight, without following the guidelines, our business
suffers. This is like a family where everyone should think about
others,” said A Muthuswamy, president,

“On either
side, we are not against the growth of any individual as well as the
dealers. But, our concerns should also be addressed,” he further
added. The association members said that there is an unwritten
agreement among them, where one channel partner will not recruit an
employee from another partner. Even if they want to recruit they will
go by proper guidelines like relieving order. This problem exists
only with vendors.
