Commemorating the 3rd death anniversary of Rajib Sarma, former member of North East Computer Traders Association (NECTA), the association recently organised an afternoon cricket match on April 22 at Judges Field, Guwahati.
The social event was primary targeted to bring together the families of NECTA members as well as increase interaction among the channel community in the town.
The event comprised of 2 distinct cricket teams being sponsored by HP and Epson comprising 12 members each and turned out to be a massive hit among the NECTA members. The match comprised of 15 over each side with HP Team bagging the trophy by 5 wickets bating the Epson Team's score of 201 runs.
"The participants were really enthusiastic and the players (channel partners) have been preparing for and practicing the game for over a month for the match", said Vikash Agarwala, Executive Committee member, NECTA.
The event was attended by over 150 visitors out of which over 50 families of channel partners participated. The cricket match was followed by an after-party dinner.
The cricket match is an annual event of NECTA in memory of Rajib Sarma (former NECTA member) who was killed 3 years back in a bomb blast in Guwahati.
