Petrochemical Corporation among the top 10-export company

The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) recently announced
the top 100 export companies of year 2005. Most of the exports were made by big
companies like Formosa Petrochemical Corporation, AU Optronics Corp and Chinese
Petroleum Corp. Innolux Display Corp had the fastest growth. The top export
company-Formosa Petrochemical Corpora­tion's exports were worth US$5.03
billion. The number two export company, AU Optronics Corp's export was about
US$4.3 billion; and it was US$3.67 billion for Chinese Petroleum Corp. The total
amount of export from top 100 companies reached US$78.8 billion, which accounted
for 41 percent of the Taiwan total export. According to the statistics from
Bureau of Foreign Trade, the percentage of total export of top 100 companies
takes up bigger and bigger proportion of Taiwan total export in recent years.
The percentage was 31.3 percent in year 2003, 36.4 percent in 2004, and this
result indicated that the most export amounts are coming from big companies.
