href="https://www.dqweek.com/judging-the-best-of-north-13th-dq-week-awards">13th
DQ Week Awards, New Delhi proposed to institute 2 awards
from the next year, 2012. This will include- The Best Professional
and Ethical Trading Practices and Major Contribution to Social
Responsibility. Speaking to The DQWeek, RK Malhotra, president, PCAIT
said, “The proposed awards have been approved by our executive
council (EC). However, the awards will be facilitated from next year
onwards. The awardees may include non-members also, however in such a
case PCAIT may ask the non-member to become its member. The
modalities of the award, selection criteria etc, will be discussed
and formulated at the next EC meeting of PCAIT.” Malhotra said,
“The award will be given to an IT partner who is rated the best not
only in terms of business performance but also in terms of business
practices and innovation. The process of selection of the winner will
be done by the PCAIT committee. The winner will get a medal and a
citation.”
In addition to
this, he also touched upon the future initiatives of the association
which include getting an FIR made with the EOW against a major
defaulter who had duped their channel community to the tune of over
Rs 20 crore; taking up with vendors like Samsung on the issue of
parallel imports with which some channel partners are seriously
affected; strongly represent with vendors to take cognizance of the
interest and welfare of the channel partners by not enforcing
'bundled supplies'; strengthening the EC by inducting a senior
supreme court advocate who can guide on important legal issues.
Malhotra also added, “Work has been done on the conceptualization
of setting up a 'Knowledge City' as early as possible, where
members of PCAIT will be given space for displaying the products
dealt with by them and an auditorium for holding conferences and
seminars will also be housed in that.”
