N Sudarshan Reddy, manager, Compage computers, Hyderabad, told ‘The DQ Week' " We came to know about Mumbai dealers and Confed-ITA's foot-forward against the parallel import through ‘The DQ Week'. Following that we had a discussion last week and we are in the mood of forming an association against the parallel import. However, I cannot reveal the names of the partners. A final picture is about to come in next 15 days." Sudarshan, however, revealed that around 15 partners from Hyderabad participated in the meet and the responses were very positive. The other developments like electing the president of the association and other office bearers is yet to get a final shape.

He also said that there are plans to take the association across Andhra Pradesh. "We will initially test it in Hyderabad and if that gets success, we will take it across the state", Sudarshan told. On the parallely imported products, he said, "As a vendor, the brand is their own property and it should be the primary duty of the vendors to take care of the channel partners. We spend years in developing a brand and the vendors should ensure that the business of the channel partners are healthy."
