China-based Pantum International, a manufacturer of printers and consumables has made its entry into the Indian laser printer segment. The company has partnered with Mumbai based Rashi Peripherals as national distributor to tap the SOHO and SMB market. The company will be competing with heavy weights like HP, Canon, Xerox, Ricoh and Samsung.
Relatively, a new company who started its business in the year 2006 in China, Pantum is betting high on quality and total cost of ownership, and has set an ambitious plan to be amongst the top 5 printer player globally and in India by 2015.
According to Alex Li, VP, Pantum International, "We have chalked out a detailed phased manner go- to-market strategy jointly with Rashi Peripherals. The plan is to first launch the product for the North and East region followed by West and South regions. Besides having national distributors, we will be having our regional distributors to further expand our reach into 65 towns by the end of this financial year."
Rajesh Goenka, VP, sales and marketing, Rashi Peripherals said, "With our partnership with Pantum, we have added printer business into our distribution-ship. We are excited to tie-up with the printer company. In addition to having regional distributors, we will be partnering with large format retail stores starting next year. Jointly we will start conducting demo at SOHO and SMB customers, participating in exhibitions and roadshows and many other promotional and marketing activities. Besides distribution, we will be managing the pre and after-service support for Pantum."
