Online consumer products research platform Reviews42, which is now rechristened as Zopper, has raised 5 mn of Series B funding. The funds will help the company in further development and innovation in products, building the team and enhancing infrastructure.

Zopper has 10.5 mn products to browse from over 400 categories-the largest product catalogue in India. The retailers can also upload their inventory and till now 1,000 retailers are registered with Zopper at a monthly fee of Rs 500.

The company has launched a new mobile app designed to help customers in choosing the best product at the right price and from the best place whether online or offline. App can intelligently guide shoppers to find a product that perfectly suits their needs. Customers can find price listings from over 1,000 e-commerce portals and over 100,000 offline stores-local stores and retail chains.

Neeraj Jain, co-founder, Zopper, said, "Our online portal and mobile applications use has risen dramatically in last 18 months, and we believe this is just the beginning. We are planning to scale up every aspect of our business and provide a number of new products to enhance our customer are shopping experience. This round of funding would be utilized to build up our products, team and technology to seamlessly integrate offline retailers."

He continues, "The rebranding was done as the new name represents multiple benefits provided by the company to the users and is not restricted to only reviews. With the rebranding, Zopper we expect to reach out to new sets of users who are avid shoppers and are in search of different options on the offline an online platforms."

Since its inception in 2011, Zopper has encouraged users to share their product experiences with the community, which consists of shoppers and product experts. The company has presence in 4 cities which includes Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Chennai and has ambitious plans to expand to 10 other cities by the end of 2014.
