Online cyber law college opens

Chennai-based Cyber Law Solutions Ltd, a newly floated company for providing online education and Internet solutions, has launched a
website-www.cyberlawcollege.com-for delivering programs in cyber laws. To start with, It is offering a certificate course in cyber laws and the program is priced Rs 2,750, as an introductory offer. "Two more programs--diploma and advanced diploma in cyber laws are going to be introduced, in the next couple f months," said Na Vijayashankar, MD, Cyber Law Solutions.

While there is no basic qualification required for doing a certificate course, the two diploma courses are going to be offered for specific groups. "These diploma programs are country specific and initially, we are offering this for Indian audience. The diploma program in cyber laws, a six-month course, is designed for e-commerce professionals and the advanced diploma is meant for lawyer community," said

Vijayashankar.

In certificate program, the company has 40 registered students across the world, in its first batch. "This is a common program on cyber laws which is suitable for any country and anyone interested in this subject," he said, "Right now, the course fee can be paid through offline mode only and soon we are going to introduce online payment facility for the customers."

As the diploma courses are region specific, the major part of the subject revolves around IT Act 2000, which came into effect in India recently. "Unlike the certificate program, these will be more technology oriented and focus on legal issues also. Also, final examination will be conducted compulsorily here," said Vijayashankar. The Company is looking at tying up with professional training institutions to deliver quality content and also to offer the programs through physical centers.

"We will be the only company to provide these kind of programs in cyber laws and the diploma programs will be extended to other countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka and Australia shortly, with the guidance of local consultants there," he said.

The company is planning to introduce other online programs in various subjects soon. "Our motive is to launch parallel colleges on the Net and make it as a complete virtual university. Once we complete building prototypes for the various projects, the company may go for venture funding for other expansion programs across the globe," said Vijayashankar.


The other areas where the company plans to enter into are online consultancy, arbitration consultancy, domain name registration service and service package for Internet based companies.
