Q. What are the good and bad aspects of the business ecosystem in Vellore?

The one good thing is the unity that is prevailing among the channel
community in Vellore. The partners understand each other and act accordingly.
The bad thing is that vendors are trying to spoil this unity.

Q. What has been the impact of the slowdown on Vellore?

The impact of recession is felt across each and every verticals across the
globe and Vellore is not an exception to that. We are seeing a 35 percent drop
in the sales for the last few months and we expect this percentage to go up.

Q. What is the new trend that is catching up in the Vellore market?

The business ethics is slowly deteriorating and adding to that we see more
participation of Chennai players in the market compared to the Vellore channel
partners. We are trying out various means to combat that, however we have been
unsuccessful till date.

Q. What are some of the issues faced by the channels in Vellore?

Almost in every product there is a price difference of a minimum five
percent as compared to Chennai. Secondly, dealers in Chennai are aggressive in
our region, due to which we are forced to enter other dealers' territories.

Q. What are your expectations from vendors?

We look forward to more support from vendors to help the channel grow. The
regional distributors in the region are not able to grow due to several policies
and double standards practiced by the vendors.
