NxtGen Solutions enthralls Nagpur

NxtGen Datacenter and Cloud Services, one of India's leading data center services solution providers, emphasized on the advantages of an On-Premise Data Center (OPDC) to an audience of more than 100 enterprises during the Smart Infrastructure Forum in Nagpur. The panel discussion emphasized on the business values of OPDC and Enterprise Cloud Service while also discussing the challenges faced by companies during technology adoption and transition.

NxtGen elaborated on its offerings of Enterprise Cloud Services. Private clouds will also be offered along with OPDC for increased capacities for computing and storage. Thakkar, head, north and west, NxtGen suggested enterprises could go for a combination of private clouds for their core applications while their non-core applications like HR, payroll could move into a public cloud. While, Anushul Kumar from Emerson informed the company heads on their new solutions along with smart cooling solutions and examples.

The panel discussion was the highlight of the evening as the panelist engaged the audience with smart one-liners, information sharing, advices and more with some lighter moments. The panelist included Umnesh Deshpande from Persistent Systems, SR Kolarkar from Remote Sensing Agency and k Bhaskar Verma from NxtGen and it was moderated by Rajneesh De, editor, DQ Channels.

The key areas under the scanner at the discussion were expectation of vendors from service providers, technology utilization, some case studies, capex and opex of cloud platforms, challenges, government regulations and policies.

Deshpande highlight key pointers under expectations stated that the service provider has to have an in depth understanding of the customers business domain. The solutions need to be agile along with scalability. They have to deliver solutions which deliver optimum results from the system fulfilling business needs. While, talking from government perspective, Kolarkar said, "Till recent times, the thumb rule of government was to go for the cheapest available solutions. However, slowly things are changing and the way government is functioning. Indeed there is concern for price but more than that is there is constraint on certain technologies. The specifications are stringent." He further added, "The service provider has be true to its commitment and give at least 3 year warranty."

Bhaskar from NxtGen elaborated upon cloud technologies and shared his insights on the expectations fulfillments.

Going ahead the panelist discussed at length the challenges of cloud adoption. Some interesting points put forth were like ‘When you say cloud nobody sees it and so the belief reduces.' The need for mindset change was key factor explained Deshpande. He also shared his experience of dealing in international markets and gave advice on policies and government regulations in various countries along with examples. While, Kolarkar shared his concerns regarding security and how it is a paramount concern due to the nature of his job and organization. He also stated that the technology adoption is happening but it will be scrutinized a lot before being deployed.

Towards the end, Bhaskar of NxtGen elaborated upon various misconceptions about cloud and the proposed a ideal solution to work out more effectively with vendors and government bodies. NxtGen also offered free trial of cloud services to the audience.

Enterprises from Nagpur who attended the Smart Infrastructure Forum were excited by the NxtGen offerings. Some of the partners expressed their interests to go with NxtGen in the near future.
