Visual computing major, Nvidia is all geared to strengthen its channel presence in the country. Also, the company is gearing to educate consumers as well as partners about the utilization of GPU technology and enable them to explore newer territories in the same arena.

Vishal Dhupar, managing director, South Asia, Nvidia said, "Nvidia revels in a culture of reinvention. We have gone through three distinctly different phases-initially focused only on PCs, then expanded to include workstations and other computing devices, and now diversified to smartphones and tablets to supercomputers and automobiles."

Nvidia has a 3 tiered channel partner structure. The company currently has a presence across 35 cities and expects to increase their coverage to 67 cities during this year i.e Feb 2013 to Jan 2014. As of today, the current number of partners is 4,500 across 35 cities which we expect to grow by 20-25% every 6 months. Dhupar said, "Through NTRAIN we have been conducting 100 training sessions per quarter and the aim is to target an increase of 50% in the number of training session."

Nvidia conducts about 100 training programs in a month to engage and educate channel partners and the plan is to increase the sessions by 50% in the coming year. The company has also rolled special channel programs called Quadro Preffered Partners (QPP) and Tesla Preffered Partners (TPP) where the later one was initiated only six months ago. Currently, under QPP the company has about 150 partners and is planning to increase it by at least 50%.

In addition, the company is exploring opportunities to develop experience zones across India to provide end consumers with an experience of their technology. Also, these zones will be the base for educating the mass. Furthermore, Nvidia through its channel partners are enabling them to provide solutions in the areas like virtualization, grid computing, data centers and more. Also, academia is another segment which the company has as a key focus area and already through channel partners, it is providing solutions for certain states.

The Indian market is driven by the combined spurt in digital infrastructure including deeper mobile network and broadband penetration, devices with wider availability and more choice for computing gadgets and easier access to information through technologies like cloud computing. At the same time, the digital revolution is buoyed by favorable demographics - young, tech-savvy and affluent Indians that represent the new-age of discerning buyers and consumers. Nividia is working out strategies to educate the youth to further pursue interests in the visual computing segment and create a career path in this field.
