“Registering more than 30 percent growth in UPS business is not an easy
task. Numeric was able to do it since it has a strong presence in the region,
with quality product and support. Further strengthening our service network, we
have increased the direct service centers to 152, this year. We are also getting
into the overseas market in a big way, while doubling our channel sales in the
domestic market. All these initiatives are to pay rich dividend for us,” said
S Srinivasan, VP (IT and Distribution), Numeric.

The company is increasing its service network mainly to be close to the
market and provide the right solution to the customer. Numeric claims to provide
customized solution for customers, to meet their specific requirements. “Being
close to the market has always helped us in business and we are quick to react
to the customer requirements. Numeric has designed many innovative and exclusive
solutions for its customers, in segments such as telecom, retail, enterprise and
manufacturing, among others. Numeric is the only company to reach wide range of
audience,” he claimed.

Channels are playing a key role in taking Numeric products across the country
and at present they contribute more than 10 percent to the company's total
turnover. Numeric embraced channel community in business about two years back
and appointed SES Technologies Ltd and Compuage Infocomm Ltd as its national
distributors. “Now, we are aiming for the next level of growth in channel
business and have appointed eSys as our third distributor in the country
recently. The tie-up with eSys will help us to acquire width in distribution,”
pointed out Srinivasan. eSys tie-up is also expected to help Numeric in their
global reach program.

According to Srinivasan, Numeric is the only Indian company to go truly
global. The company recently started its operations in the Mauritius, which will
be a hub for the African markets. “We have got several leading names as our
customers there, in a short span of time. We have clients in telecom, airlines
and hospitality, among others. The export share of business is considerably
increasing in the total pie,” he quipped. Numeric is also eyeing the US,
Europe and South East Asian markets, through partnership and alliance programs.

The company's tie-up with Merlin Gerin has come to an end this March, since
the French company is planning to enter into the Indian market directly.
“Numeric is a very strong company with a wide range of product offerings in
the market. It has grown on its own strength all these years and will continue
the success story in the years to come also,” added Srinivasan.
