In addition to financial assistance, the North 24 Pargana District Administration has taken a fresh initiative to provide free computer certificate courses for girl students under the Kanyashree project. As a pilot project, 127 students of four schools of the district have been given training in the first phase. At the end of the six month course, the certificate of a reputable organization is being given to the girls. This initiative has been planned to make the students productive in the future. Moreover, those who are being trained, will be able to teach others in the future. Computer classes are going on after school holidays so that there is no harm to the studies.

According to the district administration sources, 13 to 18 year old students are under the Kanyashree project. Students of 'K-1' earn an annual Rs 750 and students of 'K2' receive a one time Rs 25,000. Recently, the District Administration has taken this plan to make computer courses for students of Class X and XII. As a pilot project, this course has started in four schools in Barasat, Ashoknagar, Habra and Panihati since last MayThe  professional course includes desktop publishing, Web design and Tally. All 127 students from four schools have been selected from the tenth and twelfth grades.

According to sources, the girls have been informed about administrative activities under the Dishari project They are being taken to BDO offices, BLRO offices, Thanas, Krishi Kadams, hospitals everywhere. The administration officials are conducting  the classes. This campaign is under progress in the district.
