In its continuous effort to revamp its image, mobile phone manufacturer Nokia today launched Nokia Lumia 510, its smart Windows phone, which will be available at a price below Rs 11,000. The company says it will reveal the exact price of the product, touted as the Nokia's Diwali gift to its customers, a day before it is available in the market.
The entry-level Windows phone was unveiled by Bollywood beauty Diana Penty in New Delhi, as a part of the phone's global launch.
"With the Nokia Lumia 510 we continue to meet our commitment to bring Windows Phone to new, lower price points," said Vipul Mehrotra, director and head, Smartphone Devices, Nokia India. "Nokia Lumia 510 is our Diwali gift to the Indian youth, as it has been designed specifically for markets such as India and offers them a fun and personal way to enjoy Windows Phone. People who use Windows Phone have realized how much more intuitive it is than other smartphone platforms and Nokia Lumia is the most complete embodiment of the Windows Phone experience," he added.
Designed for the youth, the Lumia 510 comes with a four-inch display, integrated social experience, Nokia maps and Nokia drive, besides other apps. The phone also boasts of features like Live Tiles, making it easy to see incoming messages and updates, PeopleHub, which brings together contacts and updates from across social networks into one location as well as access to Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer 9 on the mobile.
Also, Lumia 510 has 4GB built-in memory and included 7GB of free SkyDrive cloud storage.
The phone, available in colors like red, white and black with a 5MP camera, also comes with a 3 month unlimited Nokia Music and MixRadio offering that allows consumers to stream music directly to the phone, and to listen to personalized
