NOIDA: Zooming ahead in IT

NOIDA is growing as one of the most posh locales in the National Capital Region (NCR). No one can deny the kind of potentials it has in offer. From wide, neat roads to plush kothis and premier institutes to swanky shopping centers and exclusive eating joints, NOIDA is a paradise for the elites and middle class alike.

NOIDA-New Okhla Industrial Development Authority, was constituted in the early 90’s under the Industrial Area Development Act 1976 to provide room for the industrial as well as the domestic spillover of the NCR. An upcoming integrated industrial township, NOIDA has a host of business and commercial opportunities to offer to the entrepreneurs with a spark.

One can choose from ample opportunities available; the manufacturing, trading and the service sectors to name a few. The factors that have made NOIDA a preferred destination for Investment, Trade and Commerce are:

  • Proximity to Delhi and a better living environment than Delhi
  • Cosmopolitan composition of the population
  • World class infrastructure, education and health facilities
  • Integrated Industrial nature of the Township
  • Availability of trained and sophisticated workforce

An investment friendly attitude of the NOIDA Authority and other Government Bodies and last but not the least an unending chain of Entrepreneurs who want to make things happen.

Apart from the various business opportunities mentioned, there are still many unconventional areas where there is business growth in NOIDA. Some of these off beat areas are in the form of the Pan Masala Industry, the Gutka Industry, the Agarbatti Making Units, the Wooden Furniture Units, theWrought iron Goods Units and theHandicraft Units

Thus in a nutshell business can be felt in the air in NOIDA. It’s just that one has just to keep ones eyes and ears open and use a bit of ones entrepreneurial instincts and there is no reason why one cannot succeed in
NOIDA.

Fast emerging as a symbol of modern-day town planning, Greater NOIDA is giving both NOIDA and Gurgaon a run for their money. Greater NOIDA not only holds out the promise for safe investments, but it is equally ideal for a peaceful livelihood encompassed by a green natural landscape.

A 35-minute drive from Delhi, Greater NOIDA is not an Extension of NOIDA but is an upcoming Eco Tech city on its own. It is only its proximity to NOIDA and as it is in the same district of Gautam Buddh Nagar, hence the name Greater NOIDA has evolved

Greater NOIDA, is poised to emerge as India’s premiere modern city. Spread over an area of 40,000 hectares approximately and with world-class residential and industrial infrastructure being developed, it seems that whatever is being dreamt about this city may well come out to be true.

Presently Greater NOIDA is connected to Delhi only through NOIDA. However in the pipeline there are plans to connect it directly to Delhi via an eight lane Express Highway. At present Greater NOIDA is ideally suitable for industries which require big landspace to operate from as the land rates are much lower when compared with those at the nearby destinations. But the situation is most likely to change with a steady influx of industries coming in and the rates are bound to rise.

Free of bureaucratic hassles, the well-planned township of Greater NOIDA is fast emerging as a hot spot for industrial giants like Asian Paints, Honda Seil, Daewoo Motors, LG Electronics and so on to establish a permanent base in its environs. Plans to develop IT Parks,a Biotech Park, a Toy City, a Mahila Udyami Park, a Special Economic Zone, an Export Promotion Park an international airport to facilitate tourism, cargo, aviation and non-aviation facilities.are equally gaining grounds Reputed schools like DPS and Somerville and educational institutions like Apeejay, Galgotia, IEC are already functional with Jamia Millia Islamia and Roorkee University taking up land.possession to develop their respective branches A Taj Expressway has also been planned which will provide a direct link to Agra from Delhi via Greater Noida.and so on.

Greater NOIDA will perhaps be one of the few model townships where as much impetus has been given to maintenance as to the creation of infrastructure. It definitely offers the advantage of being based on modern planning philosophy and stresses the need for private sector involvement with the administration taking up the key role of a facilitator. And since emphasis has been given to the development of infrastructure prior to the influx of potential occupiers, there is not likely to be any major shortfall in supply or reliability.

IT is the buzz word in the business world today. Every company and every entrepreneur wants to hitch to the IT bandwagon and NOIDA has emerged as the HUB of IT in Northern India. It is the biggest exporter of Software Services in Northern India and second in the country. NOIDA is the home to software giants and infotech companies This includes HCL, IT&T, Adobe International, TCS STG Thompson and of course hundreds of startups and mid sized software units which litter the campus of STP (Software Technology Park) and NEPZ( NOIDA Export Processing Zone).

Apart from the top of the line software solutions being developed at IT units in NOIDA there are many small units who are cutting there teeth in the highly competitive field of IT Enabled services like Medical transcription , Call centers , Data Processing and Digitization.

NOIDA also has hundreds of IT Coaching Centers which are churning out IT professionals to meet the huge demands of these from the ever booming IT sector. A Call Center Training Institute, one of the first of its kind in the country is another of the major IT attraction in NOIDA

NOIDA being a hub for IT developments, there is a big market for computer hardware too, The huge local population of NOIDA which is cosmopolitan in nature is a big customer for the computer hardware. Thus one can conclude that IT is a big Industry in NOIDA and one can safely venture into any of it.
