NIIT Technologies announced a strategic engagement with Cathay Pacific for

the development of a Warehouse Operating System (WOS) for their new cargo

terminal at the Hong Kong International Airport.

It has provided the state-of-the-art solutions to cater to cargo ground

handling operations for SATS (Singapore, Taiwan and Beijing) and more recently

at the Bangalore International Airport. It would design, develop and implement

the warehouse operating system that would be tailored to serve the growing

demands of the air cargo industry. The system is scheduled to go live in the

middle of the year 2011. Peter Lee, Cargo Terminal Program Manager, Cathay

Pacific Services, said, “We decided on NIIT Technologies for its proven track

record of successful implementations and service delivery excellence in the

airlines and airports solutions space across the south east Asia region.”

He added that the partnership would bring incremental value to the cargo

ground handling operations at the Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal in Hong Kong and

would help the company serve its customers better. Arvind Mehrotra, EVP and

Head-Global Strategic Initiatives, NIIT Technologies said, “This engagement with

Cathay Pacific reinforces our leadership position in the travel, transportation

and logistics industry.”
