FUJIFILM India has launched the X half (model X-HF1), a compact digital camera inspired by classic half-frame film cameras. Designed for creators who value style and substance, the X half brings together nostalgic design, modern features, and playful photography tools in a lightweight 240-gram body.
Blending analog charm with digital freedom
The X half is built to offer a tactile and thoughtful shooting experience. Its vertical 3:4 aspect ratio LCD monitor makes it perfect for portrait-style content. A manual frame advance lever, aperture ring, and optical viewfinder mimic the feel of traditional film photography while enhancing creative intent. With a 1-inch back-illuminated sensor and a 32mm F2.8 fixed lens, the X half delivers crisp image quality with a familiar field of view.
One of the standout features is its 2-in-1 composition mode, allowing users to combine two vertical stills or videos into one creative frame, either in-camera or via the new X half app. This feature offers endless storytelling possibilities for content creators and visual artists.
The camera is also loaded with 13 film simulations, including “REALA ACE,” along with new creative filters like Light Leak, Halation, and Expired Film to recreate the warmth and imperfections of analog photography. Users can also add grain effects and date stamps for that classic film look.
Another highlight is Film Camera Mode, which limits photo previews until a selected number of shots is complete. It encourages intentional photography and simulates the suspense of film rolls. Images can then be digitally developed using the X half app, which also allows for social sharing, printing with instax Link devices, and creating custom photo products.
Touch-based controls, Bluetooth connectivity, and long battery life (up to 880 frames) make the X half an easy everyday carry for creators who want to shoot on the go.
With the launch of the X half, Fujifilm is not just releasing a camera but inviting a new generation to slow down, experiment, and rediscover the joy of visual storytelling in a compact, creative format.
