In the new board, Rajesh K Agarwala has been appointed as the president followed by Ranjan Das as the general secretary. Apart from key office bearers and the executive committee, the association has selected Pawan Agarwal of Datamation, Sanjay Bagaria of Eeshwar Systems, Trideep Talukdar, immediate past-president and Swarup Pal of Better Power Systems as advisers to NECTA.

Also, in its plans for a better upcountry reach and participation from the channel partners in the north-east, NECTA has decided to have a quota of 4 executive committee seats reserved for partners from upcountry locales. "We have kept 4 seats in the executive committee reserved for channel partners from locations other than Guwahati. In the next executive committee meeting-scheduled on May 14-we will decided on the areas to be represented, as well as, the personnel who will fill up the vacancy," said Vikash Agarwal, VP, NECTA.

It is likely that NECTA will be selecting partners from Tinsukia, Shillong, Imphal and Silchar for the executive committee seats. Also, channel partners from upcountry locales have been asked to nominate members or contenders from their respective regions so that equal weightage could be given to all the nominations.

The selection of the office bearers went without contest as Agarwal stated that the contenders for the portfolio of president and general secretary has pulled out their nominations just prior to the official election.

In its priority list, NECTA has decided to safeguard and advocate ethical trade practice in the region ensuring duplicity and double standards are avoided in trade deals as well as increase its social meets among members.

"We have also undertaken membership increase drive and are looking forward to incorporate members from other states in the north-east region to give an enhanced shape to NECTA," Agarwal concluded.
