Networking vendor Netgear announced its plan of localizing its Indian

already started offering service support for the northern market and is working
on the same for the western region.
At the occasion, Dave Patnaik, Regional Director (Asia Pacific), Netgear

distributors Cyberstar and the recently appointed Advent Infotech. In networking
it has attained second position in India to Cisco Linksys. Therefore, it was
high time to localize our presence here. The local support for western region
and the regional manager will be appointed by the month of May."
Netgear has also made plans to carry out channel programs across the country
in a phased manner, "We will look at covering the major metros first and
then move towards the B and C class cities. There are programs starting on April
15. Netgear has two distributors and VARs is the second tier followed by SIs.
There will be technical and marketing tools provided to these partners and with
the toll free number being operational in the north and even in the west the
partners would have complete support," said Atul Jain, Regional Sales
Manager (North), Netgear.
Presently Cyberstar and Advent have 200 and 100 VARs respectively. Netgear
plans to aggressively target the SMB segment, which is almost 60 percent of the
