Netcore launches server software to target SMEs

Netcore Solutions has launched its all-in-one server software for SMEs -- Pragatee. Based on the Linux platform, this software includes applications for email, Instant Messaging (IM), anti-virus, proxy, firewall, anti-spam as well as file, print and database server.

According to the company, the server market is fragmented and medium and large companies are the main customers. "We are looking at 30 lakh small business in India, which is a big market for our product," said Rajesh Jain. MD, Netcore Solutions.

There are very few legal server software options currently available in the market, and all of them are very expensive.

According to Jain, Pragatee is specifically designed to meet the needs of SMEs at an affordable price. It is priced at
Rs 7,500 for one to 10 users, Rs 10,000 for 11-25 users and Rs 12,500 for more than 25 users. The prices given above exclude taxes, but the server comes with a one-year unlimited off-site free support via phone, fax, email, IM and Web. AMC costs for second year would be 40 percent of the total amount. For educational institutes and non-profit organizations, Netcore is offering a 50 percent discount on gross software order value exceeding Rs 50,000.

According to the company, this is a good opportunity for channel partners too, as Netcore is currently working out the channel strategy to sell Pragatee with server hardware vendors. Those channel partners involved in selling server hardware can benefit greatly by providing a complete combination of hardware and software at an affordable price.
