Network Appliance has unveiled two new midrange storage systems-the FAS3020
and FAS3050-plus a new serial ATA (SATA) option for primary storage
applications. Concurr-ently, NetApp debuted two new V-Series virtualization
engines-the V3020 and V3050.

These new solutions, com-bined with Data ONTAP 7G software, address three
sig-nificant customer pain points-high storage acquisition costs, low storage
resource utilizat-ion and increasing storage management costs. This is with
solutions that help today's enterprise tailor its storage needs to its
business and data demands.

As part of the unified Net-App architecture, these mid-range systems support
file ser-vices, FC SAN, IP SAN, and mul-tiple network configurations. With
storage capacity up to 84TB and 336 disks, the FAS3000 series brings high-end
capabilities with a midrange price tag. Additionally, FAS3000 systems offer the
FlexVol capabilities built into Data ONTAP 7G, which imp-roves disk performance
even for small data volumes. FlexVol technology can also increase customers'
storage utilization by up to 50 percent.

V-Series systems enable customers to extend the com-plete suite of dynamic
virtuali-zation capabilities delivered in Data ONTAP 7G software to third-party
storage products from HDS, HP, IBM, and Sun. NetApp solutions are comple-mented
by ConsultingEdge and SupportEdge services available from NetApp Global Services
(NGS). FAS3020 and FAS3050 systems are available immediately.
