OST has signed national distributor
agreement for the entire range of Neopost products for distribution
in India. Neopost is a supplier of mailing solutions and has direct
presence in 18 countries. OST would be initially distributing entire
range of their digital franking machines in India through its
established network of dealers and channel partners. With this, OST
is successfully foraying into office automation products and is
aiming to expand in this field. Dinesh Sharma, MD, OST Electronics
said, “OST is not only serving new community of partners and
end-users, but also establishing our Pan-India presence with this
business tie-up. Also, OST's target is to achieve 100 percent
retention of its end-user clientele, who are already using Neopost's
EFMs while at the same time expand into new areas of OA products,
through its exclusive dealers.” He further added, “ With the
up-gradation of the existing EFMs to the digital franking machines
becoming mandatory for its end-users, OST shall support its dealers
to deliver cost-effective product positioning in its existing market
space and also help dealers to achieve long-term commitments with its
end-users.”.

India Post, which had in December 2009
granted approval to the Neopost range of new digital franking
machines using RMFS, has decided not to renew licenses of the
five-year-old electronic franking machines with immediate effect and
has set a deadline for replacing such machines by June 30, 2013.
Neopost digital franking machines
eliminate all manual intervention in the setting of the meter of the
franking machine as the funds are downloaded on the machine
electronically, saving time and efforts for the user. The mark
generated by the franking machine includes a 2-D Barcode which is
unique for each mail item. These machines can cater to all market
segments, from SOHO users to very high-end production mailers.
Currently, the majority of franking machine customers are government
departments, semi-government, public sector and large corporate
houses.
