Strengthening its product strategy, Pune based provider
of engineering services and solutions, Neilsoft has entered into global
distribution tie-ups for its products with engineering software companies ESI
Group and Tribon Solutions. Neilsoft focuses on the CAD/CAM/CAE area and has
targeted providing engineering services and solutions to international
customers. “This has been a huge learning curve for us. The focus on
engineering helped us come up with the product strategy where we will be
creating products and engineering services for our customers,” said Ketan
Bakshi, MD, Neilsoft, while addressing a press conference.
Neilsoft earlier invested in some Internet ventures
without success and was also a reseller for Autodesk. Commenting on the two
tie-ups, Bakshi said that the company had developed the Outfit Steel Module —
a new modeling for the Tribon M2 Shipbuilding system. Tribon Solutions and
Neilsoft have signed a developer co-operation agreement wherein Neilsoft will
support Tribon users worldwide in customization of existing Tribon applications
and by developing new tools using the Tribon M2 developer’s Toolkit. This
module developed by Neilsoft will be marketed and sold by Tribon Solutions
worldwide.
Tribon Solutions is a $ 45 million Swedish company that
develops, markets and support software solutions to increase overall efficiency
in the maritime industry, especially the engineering simulations space. Neilsoft
has also tied up with France based ESI Group — for the OEM distribution of `DiEdifice’
product globally As per the agreement, Neilsoft will integrate DiEdifice as a
front-end to ESI’s Geomesh software environment. ESI group will market and
sell this software along with its ProCAST simulation software. This integration
will help ESI customers automate the gating system design and increase the yield
by reducing the number of design iterations.
`DiEdifice’ has built-in calculations, design rules
and ability to automatically generate 3D geometry of the gating system.’
“This agreement will give us access to customers of ESI, which include
automotive tier 1 suppliers and tool rooms,” said Bakshi. According to him,
the addressable market size for CAD/CAM/CAE/PLM and engineering products and
services, for Indian companies is approximately $ 2 billion.
“Over the next five years, Neilsoft will be pursuing a
$ 200 million market size from the $ 2 billion size given above,” he said.
Bakshi added that the company plans to go in for a second round of funding of
approximately $ 2-$ 3 million “We are also looking at mergers or acquisitions
of small engineering product and services companies to accelerate growth,” he
said.
Neilsoft is a venture capital backed company with
investments from GVFL and SICOM. The company is working on developing two more
products for the engineering segment. For the present, the German localized
version of DiEdifice is ready and plans are afoot to develop the Japanese
version of the software soon.
