NEC appoints Bharat Khanna as GM

NEC India announced the appointment of Bharat Khanna as GM, public safety business. Khanna will be responsible for establishing NEC India as the major public safety player in government, public sector and commercial enterprises.

In his new role, Khanna will be responsible for leading and managing NEC India's public safety team, building partnership with major consultants and system integrators, and identifying growth areas.

Commenting on the appointment, Koji Oda, MD, NEC India said, "We are glad to have Khanna on board, as he brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience by virtue of his profound understanding of the public safety and security market. NEC has been particularly eminent in the fingerprint and facial recognition solutions space and with Khanna coming in, we intend to further augment the company's overall public safety business."

Khanna brings with him more than 15 years of experience in information technology and telecom industry, where he has handled strategic accounts related to eGovernance, defense, homeland security and mass transport. He has expertise in the areas of government relations, strategic consulting, channel management, distribution and marketing.
