NCS has recently held a seminar on security and risk management in Kolkata.

Named P3 Live, the event threw light on the need of total solutions easing the

pressure on client needs. It was an interactive session, where the major focus

was on the upcoming SME segment both in the metros as well as upcountry markets.

The event was attended by over 100 companies.

"Normally when an organisation starts deploying it's IT platform, concepts of

buying computers, cables, furniture, accessories and application software comes

in. As the organisation grows, its IT infrastructure becomes more complicated

and managing it becomes a painstaking task. Keeping track of computers, network,

data, software and warranty becomes difficult. At this juncture, the companies

have to take an informed path of positioning their IT infrastructure in a

planned manner," commented RK Damani, Director-Marketing, NCS Computech.

With Wi-Fi gaining momentum in the metros and SMB/SME segments, security has

gradually evolved to be one of the major concerns for the SMB clients.

Particularly, ensuring data protection and avoiding unauthorised access to the

network is one of the primary requirements of the clients apart from the

traditional need of the antivirus. It is primarily because of the fact that

major antivirus companies have come up with total security solutions, not only

offering Internet protection, but also ensuring safety of the data in a wireless

network.

Also, since cost reduction is an area that all the major client verticals are

looking into, the solution providers are now keen on offering more customisable

solutions in a cost-efficient manner.
